Anchored in: “Effectiveness of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy on Neuropathic Pain” — PMC/NIH Meta-Analysis, 2025, and “PEMF Therapy Benefits” — Pain Research and Management Meta-Analysis, 2019
Pain is exhausting in a way that’s hard to describe to someone who hasn’t lived with it. Not just the physical sensation itself, but the mental and emotional weight of it. The way it changes your mood, disrupts your sleep, limits what you can do, and slowly chips away at your quality of life.
If you’ve been managing chronic pain — whether it’s joint pain, nerve pain, post-injury soreness, fibromyalgia, or just that persistent achiness that never fully goes away — this blog is for you.
Because the research on electromagnetic frequency therapy and pain relief is some of the most compelling we’ve come across. And we want you to know about it.
The pain research that caught our attention
A 2019 meta-analysis published in Pain Research and Management — a meta-analysis meaning it reviewed and combined data across multiple studies — found that pulsed electromagnetic field therapy reduced pain scores by 30 to 50 percent across studies on osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and post-surgical recovery. That’s not a small or insignificant number. That’s a meaningful, documented reduction in pain across thousands of patients.
More recently, a 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis published through PMC looked specifically at PEMF therapy for neuropathic pain — the kind of deep, often burning or shooting pain associated with nerve damage or dysfunction. The review analyzed 13 randomized controlled trials and found statistically significant pain reduction with electromagnetic frequency therapy.
Additionally, a published literature review in 2024 noted that specific electromagnetic frequencies have measurable effects on pain at a cellular level — with frequencies around 50 Hz showing particular effectiveness for pain and inflammation, and the therapy consistently delivering results without the side effects associated with pharmaceutical pain management.
How it works in the body
Here’s the simple version of why electromagnetic frequencies affect pain the way they do.
Pain is, at its core, a signal. Nerve cells fire, signals travel to the brain, and you experience the sensation of pain. When tissues are inflamed or damaged, those signals fire constantly and intensely.
Electromagnetic frequencies interact with the cells involved in this process. They help reduce the inflammatory cytokines — the chemical messengers that amplify pain signals. They support microcirculation — the tiny blood vessels that deliver oxygen and nutrients to damaged tissue. And they help modulate the electrical activity in nerve cells themselves, essentially helping to calm an overactivated pain response.
It’s not numbing the pain the way a painkiller does. It’s supporting the conditions that allow your body to actually heal the source of it.
Frequency 2,720 — our inflammation and pain favorite
If you’ve been in our studio you may have heard us mention frequency 2,720. It’s one of the Rife frequencies we reach for most often for clients dealing with inflammation and pain. Rife’s research identified specific frequencies associated with different biological conditions, and 2,720 has been one of the most consistently reported frequencies for inflammation support among frequency therapy practitioners.
Combined with the deep tissue penetration of our near-infrared light — which on its own has substantial research behind it for pain relief — it creates a session that works on multiple levels simultaneously.
No drugs. No needles. No side effects.
This is what we love most about frequency therapy for pain. The research consistently shows it is safe, non-invasive, and free of the side effects that make long-term pharmaceutical pain management so challenging for so many people. No dependency. No digestive issues. No liver strain. Just your body being supported in doing what it was designed to do.
Real people, real results
Our clients come in with bad knees, chronic back pain, arthritis, post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and more. They don’t all arrive as believers. But they keep coming back — because something shifts. Something eases. And after consistent sessions, many of them tell us they’ve reduced or eliminated pain medications they’d been relying on for years.
We’re not making medical claims. We’re telling you what our clients tell us, and we’re showing you the published research that supports why it makes sense.
You don’t have to just manage pain. You can support your body in healing it.
Come experience our SpectraLight beds for yourself. Your first 20-minute session is completely free. All we ask is an honest Google review. 🤍
